DESIGN DISPATCH
Design Dispatch is an Exhibition tribute to monumental Egyptian designer and caricaturist, Mohieldin Ellabbad by Mobius Studio Abu Dhabi.
Created during my in house design internship at experimental studio 40MUSTAQEL, this T-shirt illustration was inspired by Mohieddine Ellabbad’s analysis of graphic tees as reflections of cultural awareness.
Building on Ellabbad’s observations from the 1990s, I explored how T shirt culture has evolved by comparing past and present references.
Through blending analog marker techniques with digital refinement, the piece bridges nostalgia and contemporary life, offering a fresh take on Egyptian cultural identity through graphic storytelling.
T-shirt Design & Illustration drawing from a popular Egyptian folk saying and features an older woman carrying a massive tajin of okra over her head. The image acts as a playful yet critical symbol of generational frustration, layered with subtle nods to Ellabbad’s visual language and current economic pressures.
