A bi-scriptual zine that transforms my nostalgic teenage Hip Hop and R&B playlist into an immersive editorial experience.
Designed in both Arabic and English, the project reflects the cross cultural influence of these genres and how they shaped my identity. The visual direction blends Chinese ink illustrations, analogue collage and bit mapped graphics to mirror the energy and emotion of sound translated into image.
A bold colour palette of purple, blue, yellow and black captures the vibrancy of the music, while expressive typography bridges both scripts fluidly. Beyond aesthetics, Escape functions as a narrative space that explores the tracks that shaped my teenage years and the cultural influences behind them.
Escape is both a personal and collective reflection, celebrating music’s power to connect through design and language.
